Project Center

Simply having basic nuts & bolts resources can make a huge difference in turning a wonderful idea into a meaningful project. The purpose of the Grassroots Project Center is to help partnership projects come to fruition.

The Project Center has a computer lab with wireless internet, a casual meeting space, project workspace, an LCD projector, a photocopier, printers, laminators, paper cutters, a phone & fax, a digital watershed library, outreach resources, so on & so forth.

Plus, people with experience in project planning, issue research, outreach strategies, journalism, graphic design, and creating web tools.

A combination of individual and partner contributions, project grants, and community donations keep the resource center open.

Office Window Mural

November 2005 Volunteers from the E.A.R.T.H. program at KU’s Center for Community Outreach painted our store front windows with a colorful Kansas watershed scene. The mural, designed by Alison Reber and Rachael Sudlow, took several Saturdays to paint and is an inspiring asset to the office. The stream section of the painting is reflected in a native fish tank giving the appearance of a stream filled with darters, shiners, and mad toms. The tank is also the focal point of a small central sitting area.
